Fire in the distance, Burning out the land, Stealing lives before their time, And turning glass to sand.
Fire in the distance, Scorching cloudless skies, Flames applaud the shooting sparks, And watch the people die.
Fire in the distance, Carried on the breeze, Fanning every scarlet dancer, Underneath the trees.
Fire in the distance, Spreading on the ground, Forming rings of amber light, To match the crackling sound.
Fire in the distance, Silhouetting red, Merlot wine, glass, blood mauve shrine, The minds are sparking lead.
Fire in the distance, Passion shielding death, As the shields to flames they yield, The world holds bated breath.
Clouds on the horizon, Thick with heavy rain, Blown towards by gale winds, To wash away the pain.
Fire in the distance, Catches on too fast, Gale winds can only blow, So strong against such wrath.
Fire in the distance, Crackles in delight, Wind slows down and fans around, The flames across the night.
Fire in the distance, Dying down at last, All that's left is life bereft, And glowing, ashen past.
