Today is the first day of October! This marks the beginning of the Opuss #halloweenparty. I admittedly didn't expect the idea to get so many likes (31, actually, on the original post). Below is another copy of the post with the rules, tags and days listed. I've also added some more information at the end, going into a bit more depth.
As you all know, the festive season is almost here. And by that, I mean Hallowe'en. Now, I am what you would call a Hallowe'en fanatic, going all out, and I would love to have everyone on Opuss round for a nightdwelling celebration of darkness, ghosts and all things that kill in the night, but, of course, that can't happen, so I thought of the next best thing. My idea is to have an Opussian Halloween party, but I am going to need your help. During the month of October, leading up to the big day, I'll need as many Opussians as possible to come forth and put their literature arts to the test. Every day, there will be a different Hallowe'en theme, from the decorations to the costumes, the food and the music to ghosts, black cats and pumpkins to prepare for the party on the 31st. The themes are listed below and I would love to have everyone join in! Give it a go, there are no winners and no losers, just a lot of fun for the best month of the year:
1: The setting (a graveyard, an abandoned church, a haunted house?) 2: Ghosts 3: Pumpkins 4: Candles 5: Bats 6: The decorations (hanging pumpkins, skeletons, spiders?) 7: Witches 8: Your Hallowe'en name (an alias to be used at the party, maybe a pun based on your username?) 9: Paranoia 10: Blood 11: Skeletons 12: The music (anything from gothic to eclectic and rock and roll, maybe even a self written song?) 13: The number thirteen 14: Graveyards 15: The food (any kind of food, preferably real, but can include stereotypical Hallowe'en ingredients, such as raven wing, nightshade, etc.) 16: Daemons 17: The witching hour (maybe a #nightdwellers piece?) 18: Necromancy 19: The invitations (method of delivery? Splattered in blood? Laced with perfume and hemlock?) 20: Owls 21: Night 22: Black Cats 23: Spiders 24: Your costume (show up in a costume, maybe a witch, a cat, even a shadow?) 25: Grimoire/Book of shadows (spell book) 26: Summoning cry/mantra 27: Fire 28: The undead 29: Dark/Gothic/Hallowe'en quotes (your own, the Addams family, Edgar Allen Poe?) 30: A piece about the Hallowe'en party 31: ????
I will post this again on October 1st, please spread the word and try to get involved, you don't have to enter all of them, just dip in and out when you can (although, I specifically advise taking part in the 31st theme).
