Cup of cold coffee,
Spilt on the floor,
2010's calendar,
Taped to the door,
Sheets of scrap paper,
All cover the table,
Damp, yellow post-it notes,
Double as labels,
Boxes of ready meals,
Litter the printer,
Tissues lie near the bin,
Cards up since Winter,
Dark screened, black laptop,
Plugged in to the wall,
Fading light falls from the blinds,
To the floor,
Scrapped thoughts and stories,
Abandoned ideas,
A timeless, dark study,
Surviving the years,
And all of the author's,
Cliff hangers and hooks,
Procrastinate introvert,
Scattered thought books.
