When I awake,

I see your face,

Lit by a dull, white light,

I taste the gag,

Around my mouth,

How I put up a fight,

A long, deep gash,

Falls short of wrist,

I see knife on the floor,

A bruise mark,

Where you slammed my face,

Against the cupboard door,

There's broken glass,

All on the table,

Next to my oak chair,

And sleeping pills,

Lie on the floor,

I took them as a dare,

The cup of poison,

Overturned,

Mattress pressed on the window,

A hammer,

Balanced on a shelf,

A deadly forfeit limbo,

I slip my wrists,

From your weak knot,

And tear away my bindings,

I grab the knife,

And smile at,

The thought of your new findings,

You'll find the hammer,

On the door,

Poised right above your head,

I'll throw the knife,

As you walk in,

How fun, to see you dead.
