There's times when I have to sit and breathe,
As a shockwave hits me of our memories.
The ones where your smile lit up this town,
When you were happy and always stuck around.
I had big city dreams in tiny little places,
Filled with back-porch gossip and 6-pack cases.
When I grew up, all I wanted was you,
But you pushed me away like you promised you'd never do.
So as I sit here and sing, on this big ole stage,
I want you to remember me, and our good day and age.
