A sky as black as tar
descended on his people
It's purpose to destroy
a life of light in every child of every people
To deny the spirit of our lord and cease the cleansing of our souls.
A thick and noxious blanket for two thousands years, a world so icy cold
A world where love for fellow man had become all twisted and distorted,
A world where greed prevailed and compassion was not courted.
Until a day arrived like none seen since or seen before,
A shaft of pure candescence brought the glory of our Lord.
And where it met the mountain the light made nighttime into day,
And reflected from the purest streams to light a pilgrims way.
And multitudes of Angels descended to our side
To walk with us as Jesus had and be our earthly guide.
And when they had enlightened us, as teachers of his grace
And we had washed ten thousand feet and wiped remorseful tears from every face,
We waited for our call to meet the father and the son.
We started back our journey hand in hand
To where it had begun
And there to meet us where the light had pooled
A robe of purist linen not of any hand that we had known
And on the breast in golden thread a revelation had been sewn.
"You came to me, as I to you, with love and trust within your heart. Now leave this world where you have served and let us never be apart.
