I am a blotting board
A sponge to soak up all that's bad.
I so long to be a guiding light and not be classed as mad
But every story that I am told or read
Every sonnet I hear sung
Just ways me heavy with a sadness for all that humankind has done
I long to place a healing hand on all those that are dying
To banish illness and disease I am done with prayers for all your dying
To open others eyes to the beauty that surrounds, so the footprints that they leave on earth can never more be found
I hear you whisper in your huddle, he is just a Walter Mitty but believe me when I say this true
I ask for not your pity
For I soak up all your hurt and I take on all your pain in the never ending hope I have for when I come again.

I am a father of two wonderful girls and a christian, long time sufferer of depression my writing has become my therapy. Some of my writing is faith based, some of it portrays the darkness of depression. I make no apologies for that but pray by using my honesty it might help others experiencing similar turmoil in their lives. May God forever bless you and keep you! Kik me @ merlin1038
