The Rock 100 was a vote conducted by Kerrang! and it got the public to vote for their favourite rock songs.
The problem with this is the public voted for it.
Surely if it is the top 100 rock songs ranked in order the it should have the rock gods at the top? But no, the likes of You Me At Six and All Time Low are in the top 10, they just make pop music with guitars so it's classed as 'rock' when it clearly isn't. Then the likes of Metallica, Motörhead, Machine Head and Black Sabbath are near the bottom in around the 70's.
I mean, a chart of the ultimate and best rock songs which has the bands that have shaped rock of today by writing timeless rock anthems behind bands that sing about wanting to hold a girl with a guitar riff that Lady Gaga would use and it wouldn't be out of place. It's shocking, I know the public voted for it, but surely these young fangirls that are obsessed with how bands look and not their music should be told that the Metal Gods are a lot better than these bands that are at the top?
I'm a rock fan and it really does annoy me that bands made famous because they're good looking and appeal to young girls are ranked higher than the bands that shaped the rock bands that are around today.
Surely they're the bands that should be in the top 10 and being celebrated?
