I am currently sat on a hotel room balcony in Turkey basking in the lavish heat. In the general area of Dalaman, to be precise, Hisaronou (although my location says the nearest big town), the views of Turkeys highest mountain are spectacular. The sky at nights is just as brilliant, the lack of light pollution makes every star stand out brightly. All through the day and night, there's a loud ringing of crickets. You never see them, but you can always hear them.
Even though I'm not a fan of the heat at all, I have to say that this hotel, the area and the people are brilliant.
