It was narrated that Hammâm said: `A man came and praised Uthmân to his face, and Al-Miqdâd bin Al-Aswad took some dust and threw it in his face, and said: The Messenger of Allâh صلى الله عليه وسلم said: `If you meet those who praise others, throw dust in their faces.''' ( Sahih )
