There is a penny in your pocket that you keep as spare Someday this token will take you somewhere. Machines and dollars, they never sing in tune, To what you desire it's a pirates doubloon.
Riches of the rich are but their only coat, To the blind man's worth, is his fishing boat. So you gave it away for a pot of honey As the hunger grew louder in your starving belly.
You find yourself left with a heavy heart, As no satiation could truly impart; A lesson learnt in one's stupidity To once more be left, in great penury.
Your precious penny Spent in a dollar's day With empty pockets You made your way.
