The banging, its started again. I though I had gotten rid of it when I took ... Never mind. I just can't seem to shake it. A constant banging in my head. Bang, bang, bang, BANG!

Why won't it go away? Bang, bang, bang, BANG!

'come on Tom, we need to get to school we can't hang around in this alley forever.' Charlie told me impatiently, he grabbed my arm and began to pull me towards the road. 'No, wait! Just a little longer.' I pleaded 'I just need something to stop the banging. At least for a day.'

I had told Charlie about the banging as soon as it had started. He thought I was crazy at first but I managed to convince him. He gave me something to take the edge off for a while. It helped straight away.

Straight after Charlie told me what it was. Drugs... of course. Charlie is the last person you would expect to take drugs, a straight A student with a pretty rich family.

Finally I saw them coming around the corner. Two teenagers a few years older than me and Charlie. They handed me the bag and I handed them over the ten pound note and they were gone.

I keep trying to tell myself that I am not addicted and that it is just something I take to stop the banging, but it is more than that now.

'there, are you happy now?' Charlie asked. 'yeah.' I smiled at Charlie and we began to walk to school.

We were both thirteen years old and had been best friends for as long as I can remember. We do everything together, including taking... You know what.

We stopped just outside the school gates. 'one second let me just take some.' I told Charlie.

I took some of the glorious white powder on my finger and before I knew it, it had disappeared up my nose.

Suddenly the banging stopped and my mind was clear again.

Charlie smiled now and we both walked into the school grounds. Just another day at school, but this time without the banging.
