(just to note, I wrote this as a point of view from straight after WW1)

Violent delights, End in violent terms, Peace is achieved with the battle of guns. With or without honour! Torture happens don't forget, Screams so loud, While blood seeps deep red. Men may beg for mercy, Or just slip in to insanity. Information is a tool so handy.

Mental wounds are very dangerous. Fucks a person up even in sleep. Unless blessed death or amnesia.

We will never see what wounds they hold, Only the effects they caused.

They were told they would be welcomed heroes, But instead they seemed to be forgotten ghosts, Shadows of men they were before. Those that stayed behind from the war became giants, Leaving massive shadows in their wake. Some poor soldiers that came back didn't lead a lives of glory, becoming singing drunkards, homeless and broken outside and inside instead.

We should of remembered the sacrifice they made! Instead we put them and the great war in a box hidden away.

We should of helped them to our nations best ability!

We should of remembered the lives they gave freely!
