It was a beautiful sunny spring morning on that fateful day She decided to take her faithful dog Max for a walk, clear a few cobwebs away She decided to go to a little known walk called Dark Lane Wood If she had told her friends, they would of tried to tell her they don't think she should It was a place full of scary stories, generations of legends, an urban myth She had heard all the stories and thought to herself 'What a load of shit' It's far too glorious a day to not go to the mythical wood But scary stories and myths start from somewhere right?...this she misunderstood She steps into the wood, hoping to hear birdsong and the sound of insects and bees All she could hear was a nothingness surrounded by depressing looking trees Max began to cower and yelp quietly, kept pulling at his lead to turn around She kept dragging him back "come on boy", he defiantly lay on the ground Too busy to notice that something had smelt her intoxicating living flesh Max was doing her head in, she'd never seen him like this, a quivering mess She had to admit she was beginning to feel an eerily unease Looking around there was still only the company of the depressed trees She turned around to look at her faithful Max, still shaking vigorously "Let's go home boy" he got up quickly, shaking his tail frantically They'd only walked a few metres when a blood curdling sound was heard A growling, gurgly sound in the distance, she's thinking 'that's no bird' She starts to feel sick and dizzy, and knows now is the time to run She heads for the only bit of light she could see, towards the beautiful safe sun The sound was getting closer, her heart she thought it would stop If fear had a height, she was right at the very scary top Her movements seemed to slow down somehow, like she was in some horrid dream Just then she heard her dog Max, a frightened canine scream His eyes were popping out his head, they were pleadingly looking at her To save him from the terrorising teeth that were ripping at his fur For the split second that she dared to look, a creature so disgusting she could see She was rooted to the spot, too terrified to move or to flee His eyes were a dead green, pus seemed to ooze from eyes, ears and nose Seeing something so vile and putrid made her gag, in her throat the bile rose The fear slapped her around the face, she had to run and run very fast For poor old Max, for this wretched thing, was not going to be enough to last Running for her life, she sees the clearing is not too far away She somehow felt comforted by seeing in front of her, the light of day Then she's snapped out of her twisted sense of security, this is reality She felt something sharp, she looked down, a big gash upon her knee She runs to the car, locks it from the inside, her breaths are heavy gasps Looking down at the bloodied mess on her knee, she needs a doctor fast How she drove, she does not know, adrenaline alone got her there The primal instinct to survive, driving dangerously, she didn't even care A few days in the hospital, she sensed something wasn't right The overwhelming and all consuming urge to take a very big bite The hunger grew within her, deliciously stronger, each and every day Was she going mad?...how could she explain her carnivorous ways? On the seventh day, she could resist no more, hunger took a hold She returned to Dark Lane Wood, she felt hot although it's cold It was silent there but to her, this place felt different, it now felt safe She knew it was over, the hunger within her, she no longer needed to chase Her eyes turned a putrid dead green, tinged with her old eyes of blue Next her body decomposed, turned black with a greenish hue The beautiful hair she once had fell out in greasy clumps Fell to the ground, the last of her former self, lost by the tree stumps Then she heard the same growling, gurgly sound, that she'd heard seven days before It was very close now, so close, the growl was more of a gurgling roar She turned round to see a zombified hound now stood right before her Her faithful dog Max was once again reunited with his now zombified master

was his zombie master
