The face all red and blotchy Slurring words when she spoke Her eyes all bloodshot and heavy Ciggie in her hand, half smoked

Everyone stares at her As she staggers, unable to walk She really is a mess Whispers of disgust as she falls

For this girl should know better As she has a babe in her womb Seven and a half months gone Talk of disgrace fills the room

I'm sat there just watching Feeling sick at the thought Of the baby inside of her In a womb of hell he is caught

With protective hands, I place On my same pregnant bump My baby feels the strokes Kicks hard, making my hands jump

The girl can barely move now A shameless, intoxicated fool Trying to sit down near me She falls down off a stool

I'm feeling so sad and angry I had something to say "You need to think of the baby" Then got up and walked away

We went on to have our babies She had her baby boy I think she was very lucky To have her bundle of joy

When she got pregnant She carried on just the same Drunk every weekend Like the first pregnancy again

When she went into labour The news was not a surprise The little girl was stillborn Had she paid the ultimate price?
