She gently caresses his face Tracing every line and crease How she loved this face of his This love would never cease
Walking around the family home She stares at where she would sit Or where the children often played By overwhelming sadness she was hit
Into the children's room she goes Staring at them through misty eyes "why did I have to go and die?" She said through sobbing cries
Often she would visit the children Lay down beside them as they sleep Cuddling up close to smell them Inside of her, her heart weeps
A presence is all she can be For she died nine months ago Earthbound she will remain So she can watch her children grow
She tries to hold them close When they cry "where's my mummy?" And when they are feeling ill An invisible hand strokes their tummy
Although they cannot see She wonders if they sense her there For sometimes they talk to her Say no one is to sit in mummy's chair
Being still a mother to them Makes her feel warm and nice To have to leave them now Would be just like dying twice
