With parents who have deep rooted problems of their own Or an addiction so strong it ceases all nurturing instincts It's the children who suffer
When the adults don't know how they will put food on the table Or how in the hell will they pay the monthly bills? It's the children who suffer
When a man or woman commit a heinous crime Protected within their concrete and locked door prison It's the children who suffer
All the political agendas and in house fighting The horrific wars that are happening right now It's the children who suffer
The greed of those who should be protecting their own Terrorising, killing, oppressing their very own It's the children who suffer
When those in high places take away their rights Their homes, their family, their security, their voice It's the children who suffer
