Have you ever been told the story of Lesley Long Stocking? It is one that's really rather shocking
Poor Lesley had not been seen for over two and a half weeks Into her flat, friends sneak a peep
Lesley had gone, her chair had disappeared too All except her legs, stockings and shoes
There was nothing but ash on the floor, an unexplained case Lesley had no body, and no face
Spontaneous Human Combustion was what people were told Her friends and family were little consoled
The rumours gathered speed around the town of Tocking How only Lesley's legs were left, still in their stockings
From the thigh down, her legs, stockings and shoes Perfectly ok, her combustion left no clues
Was it the 'Wick Effect' that killed poor old Lesley? Due to downing too much malt whiskey?
Did her state of drunkenness cause her to catch on fire? All the gossips began to conspire
No one shall ever really know, what happened on that October night Poor Lesley Long Stockings, catching alight
I don't mean to sound heartless, like I don't give a damn Ironically, Lesley had always said she wanted to go out with a bang!!!
