As a little girl She grew up by the sea She would sit and stare From immature eyes intently
The sea to her Had long been a friend Now a grown woman The friendship had to end
She left the family home Wanted a taste of life Leaving everything she knew Cut like a sharp knife
Her heart pined away For all that she had before This emptiness within her Remained as strong, as raw
Many years passed Her beauty was enchanting In her presence Men's hearts were dancing
For all her beauty No happiness she ever felt Many tried to woo her But miserably failed
One day the yearning Just grew too strong Home was where she had to be The waiting had been too long
At last she was whole again Her spirits had been lifted She felt at peace once more She felt blessed and gifted
She returned to the place Where she often sat as a girl The wind was blowing On her glossy raven curls
Slowly, as if in a trance She glides into the sea The waves engulf her Devouring her wholeheartedly
No one knew she had gone Not until the early morn The floating beauty had been Returned by the sea at dawn
