When I was little
I wanted to be so much
At seven, a nun
At eight, a police woman
Nine til twelve, a bar maid
Thirteen til sixteen, a jockey
Seventeen til eighteen, an actress
Eighteen til twenty one, a popstar
Then aged twenty one I became a mum
Twenty five til twenty nine, a teaching assistant
I became a mum yet again
My thirties, I became mother earth
Leaving the thirties behind
I am now looking to the next chapter
When I sit and think about
'when I grow up'...what will I be?
I thought about being a midwife
Now I want to travel
Write my little heart out
See more of the world
Write about the world I see
Could I become an author?
A book of children's poems
An adult one too
A novel...or three?
To see my verses on a card
My humorous cards in shops
Who ever really knows
What they shall become?
For now I just do what I do
Hoping that my writing
Will lead me the right way
