I suppose I am a writer But not with paper and ink
I like to use my iPhone But it makes it harder to think
Unwelcome distractions In the shape of texts and calls
But if I wrote on paper I couldn't delete my scrawls
Its not often that i get a minute To sit with pen and pad
I jot things on my iPhone so I don't forget the ideas that I had
I suppose I am a writer but what would Darwin think?
He'd likely stab me with his quill after dipping it in ink
Traditional I'm not, well not least when I write
Shakespeare would spin in the globe and it would end up with a fight
Jane Austen would take prejudice, even though Ive taken pride in it
She'd probably then lose all hope and end up having a fit
Emily Bronte would be wuthering and maybe jump from a height
George Orwell would be sitting back saying I told you I was right
I won't give up my day job because money would get tight
Despite all this I'll never quit, call it escapism if you wish
But in years to come ill still be here, maybe even go on tour
By then ill probably be writing on my iPhone64
