I had barely started to dream when I heard a very familiar voice saying 'wake up mum, wake up!' and then before I realised that the last thing I remembered doing was attempting to put her to bed, she began to poke my sides with her tiny forefinger saying 'YOU cheeky, YOU cheeky!' (what she was really trying to say was you're cheeky)...a phrase I often found myself saying to her. In a half-asleep response, I said 'You're the cheeky one' and I tickled her on her bed as I got on my knees.
I had done it again- fallen asleep during our bedtime ritual.
