Part 3
'Becky, I gotta go.'. I pulled my nails off the counter, slung my bag over my shoulder and rushed towards the hospital. There in the waiting room was Mick. 'Mick,' I cried 'Are you ok?'. He sniffed and lifted his hand up to wipe away a salty tear. 'Well, I'm not exactly on top of the world.' he exclaimed. I took a deep breath. 'Whatever the consequence,' I began 'We will get through this. Together.' Mick rested his head on my shoulder. Suddenly, the nurse came out and protested 'Are you Mick and Miriam?' We nodded and cried 'Yes' simultaneously. 'Eileen would like to see you two.'. Arm in arm, we walked to the ward and there was Eileen, resting her head on two large pillows. 'Mum' Mick exclaimed, 'How are you?'. Eileen breathed. 'Im fine. Oh come on, Miriam come closer pet.'. Nervously, I edged closer. 'What happened mum?' Mick questioned. 'Oh, I blacked out my sweet. Neighbour found me lying on the pavement, good heavens, was it a strange moment. Whatever happens to me, my lovelys' she said cradling us in her arms, 'I'll know I've got you two.'
