Chapter 1

'Come on Alex! Let's go to the park!'. Alex sighed. 'I'm coming!'. Suddenly, she emerged from the door fashioning a long, delicate dress which looked like something a bride might be prone to wear. 'Alex! You can't climb and swing in a girly frock like that!'. Alex pulled her eyes wide, as in disgust with her brother. 'Actually, yes I can Joe. You can't boss me around. Joe shook his head and sighed. 'Ok then,' he began, 'but don't come crying to me when you get your frock muddy and wet.'. The pair walked in stern silence towards the park and, when they approached it, Alex burst into tears. 'OMG!' she began, 'This is like a mud bath! I can't get my dress muddy!'. Joe smirked. 'What did I tell you! And it's only a little mud you sissy!' Alex rolled her eyes and cried 'I'm going HOME!' she shrieked. How laughed to himself as he watched his sister strut away, trailing the hem of her dress in the mud. The park was deserted. It was as quiet as you could possibly imagine. Tranquilly, Joe browsed the large quantity and wide variety of flowers and plants. Again, he saw a crisp white sheet of paper, slightly tinted, which read:

Dear Joe,

I see you and your sister. I see you everywhere you go. I notice your movements. Please reply. And don't bother messing around with them postboxes and whatever, just slip the piece of paper under the soil and I'll pick it up in no time.
