This story is the story of a young angel named Allen, he an average boy at the age of sixteen. All boys at this age were expected to finally be able use their wings so that they could preform missions for the Council of the Heavens. Of course before they could do that, the power of flight could only be granted with the council's approval. And with that power comes the ability to leave the city in the sky. Of course to get the approval, a rigorous exam is taken first.

"I don't even want to leave the city, it's perfectly fine here..." Allen said to himself as he laid down on the grass in the city park. Allen wasn't to tall, barely six foot. He had messy dark brown hair and not that much muscle.

"Well maybe some of us have a purpose in life to fulfill? Hmm?" Said Risa, his best friend. Risa was pretty much the same height as Allen, she had long blonde hair and a gorgeous face. She was fairly skinny, but most food in the city wasn't too fattening so it's no surprise in the city of the clouds "Well maybe my purpose is to be an architect, an engineer, or even a scholar." argued Allen "We as angels serve a specific purpose, something we're good at. Well maybe mine belongs here, not out there." He said as he pointed to outside the city's forcefield. "I just haven't found it yet... Yeah, that's it..." "Look, the most we could do is try to pass the exam, I mean I haven't find my purpose here, and neither have you. This power will at least give us the ability to broaden our search." Allen pondered the thought, "Fine but only because you have such a pretty face." "har har, very funny..." Risa said, "Let's just go over to the council so we can take that exam." And so they left towards the biggest building in all the city, The Council of the Heavens. As they walked they saw an old lady passing by, she was running and yelling at the same time. "Everyone listen! The end is in sight, there is no hope! These signs will bring out the great harbinger of our destruction! The ruined ceremony, the building's collapse, the stolen gems, and the dark storm! I'm telling you, the great god of destruction is coming! He's coming to kill us alllllllll!!!" as she ran off screaming. "Okay?..." Allen said, puzzled. "Let's just ignore that then shall we?" said Risa. "Do you think you she might be telling the truth? That a horrible god will kill us all?" Asked Allen "I highly doubt it," said Risa, "that lady's been wrong more than once you know. Last year she claimed that there would be no rain for the whole year, and yet that year was one of the more rainy seasons. The year before that she said there would be great rain storms, and that year was one of the more dry seasons. Out of what I've heard she gets everything backwards, so maybe everything she mentioned will actually turn out fine?" "Hmm, ruined ceremony?" "Probably turns out fine, maybe she was referring to our ceremony? I sure hope so, flight sounds awesome right about now..." "How about the building's collapse?" "Maybe a building gets built?" "Okay but what about the stolen gems?" "I got nothing" she admitted "She could be referring to those gems of purity, or whatever they're called... All I know is that the make a barrier that protects us from the other nations." explained Risa, "That just leaves the dark storm, what do you think that could mean?..." asked Allen "It's probably just nothing, just like her other crap..." "If you say so. Let's just head over to the council building." said Allen as they walked off.

When they arrived a bunch of other angels were there as well, what looked to be 80 other angels. The great leader King was even there, as the prophecy goes, one man will be able to take King's place and wield the White Sword, so King was there to congratulate whomever it would be, that is, if the sword even picks anybody. "I wonder what it's like to wield that thing." mumbled Allen " I heard it's really light, and that if the sword chooses you, you're granted with eternal life." "The symbol of our power, it cuts through the darkness like butter..."

"ATTENTION!!!" Yelled the test supervisor as he called for everyone's attention. "You will be tested on your endurance, knowledge, strength and skills in battle." The young angels began to whisper to each other "By battle I do mean we have a live taboo creature for you to battle, if you hesitate to finish it off, it certainly won't hesitate to take your life. "Unfortunately, you cannot get help from others, this is a test of YOUR will power, not to beg your friends to help you. So, without further ado, let the exams begin!" And so the angels gathered in a single file line, and seven people out of the front of the line were called and taken to seven individual rooms. What were inside those rooms, Allen did not know. "So, you still want to do this test? I heard the taboo creatures are vicious when they're angry." teased Allen "If simply one of them is gonna stop us here, what makes you think you have a purpose?" said Risa "We can't give up, it simply not in our destiny." As the line shortened, it was getting about closer and closer to Allen and Risa's turn. "Almost there..." said Allen "Yup..." replied Risa And soon after it was their turn, Allen was then separated from Risa, "Try not to fail!" she said "I know!" replied Allen, and then Allen entered this room, it was incredibly dark, so dark Allen couldn't even see his own hand in front of his face. "Hellooooo, anybody here?" "Hello young angel" an outside voice replied "We shall begin the exams starting with a quick scan..." Allen was then scanned by these lazers in the walls. "Hey, that actually feels kinda ticklish..." he mumbled as he began to chuckle. "scanning complete," the voice said "please proceed to the next area..." As a door in front of Allen suddenly slide open. "Okay, whatever you say great voice..." He then went through the door to be greeted by the endurance coach "Hello you puny sack of meat!" said the endurance coach in a cheery tone. "Um, hi there?" said Allen, the man was cheery it practically scared him. "Now all you have to do here is run ten laps around this 400 meter track, I'll time you and this score will get counted up with the others as you continue the test." "Okay, I can do that." said Allen. He did this with no trouble, but something seemed off. His brother always said the exams were extreme. And yet this was fairly easy. "Maybe this is just to discourage me? Yeah, that's probably it..." and so after he finished, he was asked to go to the next room. When he got there, the woman said "Welcome! Just take a seat and pick up the pencil, you can start as soon as you want." "sure." Allen said. He thought that this is where it would get hard. Allen sat down and looked at the test paper. It had a single question

'Do you enjoy this city?'

"..."Allen simply looked at the paper, then wrote, 'sure?' "Thank you very much Allen." said the woman, "please proceed to the next test." "Awesome?" He then walked through the corridor leading to the strength test. "Something is seriously off here... Did I get into the special kids exam? This is way to easy..." He then entered the next room where there was a man inside, he said "Your task is simple, move this boulder blocking the door." "Wait... What?" asked Allen. "You heard me, move the boulder and you can continue to the final test. Can't do it? Then you fail here." the man seemed quite serious. "Fine, this should be no problem..." said Allen all smug-like. Allen got a good grip on the boulder and began to push, he pushed as hard as he can but the boulder simply wouldn't budge. He pondered for a second and noticed little indents on the floor and scratches on the side of the boulder. Instead of pushing, he pulled the boulder and it slid right out of place. "holy crap!" he yelled as the boulder nearly crushed him, luckily for him, dodging it was no problem. "Great job," said the man "Most people don't normally figure that the should pull instead of push. You're observant, you're gonna need that when you face the outside world. Now continue to your final test." Allen didn't even speak, 'Am already up to the final test? That was ridiculously easy!' he thought to himself. He then continued to the final room. "Hello Allen," said the test supervisor, "you're one of the first people to actually make it here." "Yeah, I'm a little surprised myself..." said Allen. "let your final exam begin..." said the test supervisor. Then he suddenly teleported out of the room. Allen was surprised, "Man, I want that power! Screw flight!" Then a sudden roar filled the room. As a bear dropped in from above, but it was no ordinary bear, it was a taboo creature, you could easily tell from its muted colors and the demonic symbol on its back. "Where the heck did you come from?!" Yelled Allen, But then the bear charged towards him. "Where's a weapon when you need one???" Allen looked around but none were available. Suddenly, words began to flash through Allen's head.

'You're observant, you're gonna need that when you face the outside world.'

"Hmmm..." Allen began to focus on the bear. The bear charged once more, Allen dodged it so that it would crash into the wall, the bear tumbled over revealing a bright patch of fur. The fur was glowing with a mysterious symbol. "What do I do here?..." Out of nowhere, a bright light appeared from the ceiling. As sparks flew everywhere from this light, a boy dropped down from the light. He had red hair and a black coat, and what looked to be the White Sword in his hand. "Take this you bastard!!!" as the boy lept high in the air and stabbed the bear directly in the glowing mark with the White Sword. The bear disappeared with the wind, defeated. "Well that takes care of that..." said the boy, "hey are you from around here, I'm looking for the Twelve Gems of Purity to save my world.... Wait... Are you a, angel?" "Yes, yes I am..." replied Allen. "are you a human? You certainly don't look like yo
