I'm really quite elated! Can't write this rhyme belated.... We've done ourselves proud, So although it's ending, we should SHOUT OUT LOUD!!!
The Opening Ceremony was a blast, Good fun and frolics all mixed up with GB's past. For sure I feel we can be proud, Under this Olympic Cloud.
This 'little' country I adore, We took the floor, and just gave more! We welcomed all with open arms, Looked after our visitors, Shared all our charms.
So let's try not to dwell on 'finished', Let's try not to look too hard at 'the end' For all that it has given us is unrivalled, And all that it will leave us is hard, as yet, to comprehend.
The media will try to sour, That's for sure. We'll hear all of the bad, they wish for more! But we don't have to 'believe what the papers say' 'cause we know how it's made us feel to this day.
(I hope that they will prove me wrong, Dear Media, please do sing a different song!!!)
But there is one thing I know for sure, And that is how I have adored Watching our amazing athletes Giving their all, and then they gave some more.
Their strength, talent and determination, Is truly is HUGE for our wonderful Nation, It's even inspired ME to rise to the occasion!
So now with my new 'ShockAbsorber' (™!) and my running kit, I get my arse in gear, and the streets I hit! My cossie's seeing the light of day, With my goggles, in the water, there's no time to play!!
For me, it has inspired beyond belief, I feel united with my fellow GB peeps! So now, it is with GOOD MEMORIES, I say 'Farewell', Thank you to Everyone, far and wide in this world, who collected to make this year's Olympics so fantastically, amazingly and utterly swell!!!
