You HATE me so, I know you do
But it’s OK, I HATE you too
I grit my teeth, You BITE your tongue
We SNAP and mutter All day long
Don’t stop to think, let’s just REACT
You’re hurting me, I’ll HURT you back
When did all this start? When did we close our hearts?
Who did it first? We SCREAM and CURSE!
Throw insults and blame, Raw ANGER we cannot seem to tame
Eyes narrowed, too BITTER, Calm moments? Now just a flitter...
STOP!!!!!!
Something must change, someone must give, No sense in remaining this way if we want to LIVE!
So I will back down, pull off this frown I will get prepared for the hurt - for you to drag me through emotional dirt
Hoping all the while that you will see, How hard I’M TRYING for you and me!
If this cannot work, Then, maybe......
Maybe we should LEAVE?
And the hardest thing of all? Remembering the LOVE that made us tall.
The LOVE we used to SHARE, the LOVE forgotten, I can’t find it anywhere...
Who’s to blame? Who cares? Let’s move on - Through the choices and the tears
