Best little girl in all the world....
Put a foot wrong? I'll sing you a song...
Someone give you a fright? I'll put them right!
Anything you ask, I'll indulge, as my task.
Try to turn you into spoil, Make you need me like a flower needs the soil.
For this soil is greedy, (It is needy).
But then the flower grows And the flower sees, This pot of soil's not big enough, Can't blossom here, you see?
No intent to battle, No need for war, Just show me love, But let me seek out more?
Give me wings to fly? Help me stand on my own... But I see now, you needed me to cry, To run back to you, useless and alone.
Now the soil is burned, His heart is spurned, Rotten words are learned....
The moss begins to grow, The dampness it does show.
Maybe it's time for the flower to...... go?
Angry words turn to silence,
Mumbles, curses and accusations turn to.... A Wall. A Wall between us - the Wall YOU built.
I no longer had the fight, Knew this couldn't turn out right,
So, slowly I lifted my roots, One by one I bagged them up and shipped them out, Until....
Until, you scorned me one last time, You still did not seem to realise I'd be gone this time?
And I hoped that your newspaper would bite at your face in frustration and anger - Tell you to care before I was lost, before it was ALL OVER.
But it didn't.
And it was already over, long before.
