I don't want a thing this Christmas, I really and truly could go without

All the gifts and cards are lovely, But I could get by without so much as a pout

There is just one thing I need, And I'll wish upon a magic star, All I want is you here with me, Not just in body, but in head and in heart

I know I love you, I know I do, And maybe I should just accept this is you? But Oh! This crazy life we lead, It leaves me feeling so damn blue

So please, magic star, wherever you are, Grant me this one wish today...

Make the 'absence' go away, And let my boy come here to stay
