They don't jeer They wouldn't dare They only stare And walk around them.
Nobody bullies them There's none pushed around Little Crusader Emma, Dwarf with a scooter Is scourge of shins
But still, they're outcasts Flock of misfits Herded by watchful angels Best Buddies programs Can't change that.
They aren't let down They keep on smiling Laughing, grinning, Chatting happily Unbothered by other's selfishness
Misunderstanding is a roadblock Strong enough to stand in The path of thousands Protecting a group of twelve.
But they don't mind They're just another group Of tight-knit friends Orbiting the school Attending class together Eating lunch together
Here's the thing: Some people are afraid Uncomfortable, they walk away Blind, they don't see That like every one else -Yes, the unseeing and me They, too, have strengths and weaknesses Things they like and-
They are human, Can't you tell? With needs that may differ Not aliens, not animals Yet Nobody bothers to learn their names.
No smiles Just downturned eyes given From the cowards, The unjust who assume Who follow the words of their parents No matter how rude, how prejudiced They may be.
Despite the afraid They aren't daunted More brave than them To face this world With a sunny smile That lights up This school, that walks around them
