Unaware of what lurked in the darkness She sang, oh, how she sang.

From her lips came the most glorious song From her soul, the brightest light

And despite all that had sharp claws Frantic, scrabbling, tried to get her

They couldn't, couldn't, not at all Not when she shone and sang.

The darkness and its brood flinched back It knew it had no place, no power

She sang without knowledge, without fear And the lurker never touched her.

It couldn't even come close Never, never whilst she sang, uncaring.

She didn't know the darkness waited She sang and it went away.
