Each moment in a young child's life Is a chance to grow with balance Each moment used to nurture Is a chance to build their talents

Everything we say and do is naturally observed and absorbed We must be careful our examples positively impact their world

We forget from time to time that they're still young and pure Our fears and insecurities can affect their growth for sure

We must protect their innocence Let them learn at their own pace For our lessons learned aren't theirs to bear They're running their own race

Sometimes we tell them to grow up when we've no patience for their play We'll be wishing for those moments back when we're old and grey

Children are the wise ones They don't judge or feel shame We learn these traits from adults, but so did they, no one's to blame

We have a chance to change the world One generation at a time We could teach our kids the best of us And leave the rest behind

Kids haven't learned of war Or hate, revenge and violence They only learn what we show so let it be love and kindness
