"Name?" "Malcolm Cox" "Age?" "33" "Okay, seat F6. Your room key will be handed to you when you arrive on the Alexandres. Have a nice flight, sir." "Thank you"

Malcolm smiled. It was rare to be greeted politely these days. He knew the steward was simply doing his job, but he was thankful regardless.

Malcolm found his seat and got comfortable. Sitting next to him was a good-looking blonde young woman. Malcolm decided to introduce himself, as he was in a sociable mood. "Hi there. I'm Malcolm" "Avril Jepson" She was American. Not that the accent difference was very noticeable. Over years of Americanised media being broadcast on television and computer games, nearly everyone in the world had a faint U.S. accent.

Malcolm couldn't think of anything to say. "where are you going?" he asked, immediately regretting the stupid question. "um.. Jupiter..?" answered Avril, confused. Where else was she supposed to be going? "Yeah, right. Of course.." Malcolm had always been awful at talking to members of the opposite sex. "How did you get a ticket?" he asked. "You know what?" said Avril quickly "I think we've arrived."

And so they had. The Alexandres was in full view. It was the of a similar shape to a fried egg, with a ring of accommodation, scientific, and service blocks, all positioned around a central asteroid.

"Why is there a huge rock in the middle of the ship?" asked a dull looking young man to the opposite of Malcolm. "it's for fuel" answered Malcolm. "and it creates a small gravitational field that affects the outer ring so we don't all go flying about inside." "wow, awesome!" said the easily pleased man.

Yes, thought Malcolm. It was awesome.
