School I tried to run through like a treadmill. All I could think of was Alek. This was my normal thought of the day, but this time it wasn't pleasant- it was gruesome.

When home finally appeared infront of me eyes, all I wanted was it to be midnight. I will admit that I was frightened too, but I would do anything for Alek. And I would prove that. But the problem was: how was I going to sneak out the house at midnight without my parents knowing? I had to have an expert plan to to that.

Running up the stairs, I grabbed a sheet of paper. Ruler, pen, pencil and my mind was all I needed to sketch out my plan. First, I neatly drew the path way from my house and to the forest. I then labeled everything and wrote: 'leave house at 11:40'. Next, I went through my check list; food, water, extra jumper, knife, binoculars, umbrella, pen and a note pad for observation notes. I also made a mental note that I would have to sneak at least three sips from my father's extra strong coffee. Then I started adding more labels to my plan:

'1. Use knife in harsh situations. 2. Look through binoculars. 3. Make use of note pad. 4. Go easy with the food. 5. Jumper for extra warmth' and so on.

I didn't know what I was going to meet in front of my eyes, so I had to be prepared. I was risking my life, and I didn't know for how long I would be there-where ever 'there' was. I shivered. It was already 6 pm. And then another thought struck me; if I could just borrow the spare house keys for the night (or more), then I would quietly open the door, and close it again so that nobody would suspect a thing. I rushed downstairs. The keys were lying on the kitchen table. And walking up casually, I grabbed them.

"Phew" I made out.

"Natasha?" A male voice spoke. Oh no not my father. Why was it that he always appeared at the most awkward times.

"Yes dad?"

"What are you up to?"

"Em.. I was just getting a snack"

"Oh so the house keys are edible?" Dad asked with sarcasm, staring at the keys in my hand.

"No. I wasn't getting that, I was just having an apple" I said, taking a green one out of the basket.

"Okay then, hand the keys over. I'm not having you missy getting lost in the woods again !" He said, giving a cheeky smile. But how did he know? Or was he guessing? There was no difference, I still had to have those keys. Mum had the main ones, and Dad the spare ones. I would try later.

The clock struck half past ten when me and Rosie were told to go to bed. After I kissed Rosie on the cheek, and tucked her in, she drifted off to sleep like a baby- a calm one. But I had work to do. I had a life to save. My bag was already packed, and my plan finished, which I folded and zipped up into my satchel. But the keys were still in need. So, I left our room, and creeped up to my parent's room. My dad was snoring as always, and my mum reminded be of Rosie; she slept peacefully just as her daughter. I scanned every bit of the room with my eyes like I was looking through some night vision goggles. And there I saw them, next to my dad, on the wooden chair lay the keys. This risk I had to take. I tip toed to the wooden chair and snatched the keys. But I wasn't all in luck- the wooden floor let me down and long, loud creak sounded. "Great!" I whispered. Then my dad got up, but before he could notice I ducked. After around three minutes, I managed to pluck my courage up and crawl back and out of the door and into our bedroom. Rosie was still fast asleep. The deed was done and I had still a whole forty minutes left. I would use this time wisely. Pulling on my grey wooly tights, I covered them with my only blue denim jeans that my cousin Katie bought me for Christmas. I listened for any sound- nothing. Next I managed to pull out my grey and white jumped out the drawer without any noise, and then put it on. Finally braiding my hair, I shoved the leather boots on. But the stairs were another challenge. Hopefully, sixteen years of experienced would help I thought- and thankfully it did. I still had ten minutes remaining until my mission, but how prepared I was mentally was nothing to compare to how I was physically. My body swayed, and my eyes drooped down- I was falling asleep! But then I remembered- coffee . I Sipped the warm, hot, brown liquid and it instantly ran through my veins lighting me up like a fire. This is wonderful! I thought. So, I made some more and poured it into our little red thermos, which I then placed carefully into my loaded satchel. I was ready. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• @misslittleDHP @eddie12309 @16Moonlight @tattyteddy
