9 December 2012

I was wandering up in the snowy mountains of north pole, The gusty winds blew freely with the icy cold. On the ice I struggled to move, My flushing red nose only my guide to not fall to my doom.

Until I saw some vivid lights down below me, Red, blue, yellow, purple, orange and green. I smiled in great merry and delight, Hoping it was a place to stay for the night.

And so I continued to struggle my way down, Trying my best not to fall and slip with a frown. But the winds blew hard and forced me north, So I slipped, smashing into the beautiful house's door.

In an instant a merry, jolly, rather broad man, Opened the door and before me did stand. He welcomed me in and laughed, tickling his snowy, white beard, I thanked him, but I didn't know what was later going to appear.

The man who told me to call him Santa Claus, Settled me in with all the other reindeers at the third door. Thanking him again I thought I could make friends, But they turned on me and decided I didn't blend.

I couldn't understand why they all laughed, Was it my antlers or how I fell quite daft? But no, soon I knew it was my bright red nose, My friend who had guided my way and glows.

They all sneered at me in such nasty ways, And never let me play with them at their games. Calling me "Red nose" and "Red lightbulb", It became so horrible and frightful.

I could only lay in my sleeping bed, Until Santa Claus came and said: "Rudolph, with your nose so bright, won't you pull my sleight tonight?" I smiled, and said: "Yes, I can guide you with this light".

Then all the reindeers said "sorry" to me, And I had forgiven them, let them be. Then Santa Claus, all jolly and bold, Said it was time for me to help him and do as I was told.

He strapped me in right at the front, With bells jingling at any movement. Then with the other reindeers behind, We pulled Santa's magical sleigh through the night!
