Rejoice and sing! For tonight we bring, A festival of cheer and fun
Eat and drink, there's no time to think, For of course there's much fun to be done
The preachers may preach, and the leachers may leach, But they cannot stop our parade
Come join my friends, fellows and countrymen, Tonight! At this midnight serenade!
The candles are lit, the costumes fit, waiting to leap onto your skin
The masks do fright, It's a fearful night, But hey! At least no-one can win!
For friends or foe, from head to toe, Are very much as regal as all
Capes and furs, crowns and jewellery, At least no mind was paid to the debauchery
Slander and lust, together with..trust? Bind us together as one
For tonight my good fellows, For this night only, We are the lords and ladies of the dance. Prancing and singing and twirling and curling and swishing and wishing and kissing and blessing and regretting;
For tonight we are kings, queens, dukes and duchesses; For tonight we are carnival royalty
