Seeing my aged grandmother, Age still; Smiling at me Kindly Seeing her loop conversations Till I smile back at her wryly

It breaks me to see this now; She seemed so strong, endless wit And here she is, forgetful Now And she doesn't remember Believing it

Sadly, I stand to turn Away My mother comes, smiling the same She starts to loop in the same Way; I wish this were all just a game, But then I fear I'm the same.

Soon to be trapped, repeating myself Insisting sanity, But losing self.
