When you come to the hill You will see the oldest tree in this world Or any other world for that matter It's trunk is made of ancient bark with a strange colouring of burnt oka and bright scarlet It's leaves are coloured gold And from its branches hangs a handful of fruit which could be mistaken for apples But they are not You will be drawn by your instincts to try and taste one of them Don't If you do you will become deranged and lost for ever You must pick the one which is hardest to get Then keep walking Do not look back The tree nymphs will blind you if you look back as a punishment for taking one of the rare fruit Keep walking through the enchanted forest Do not be afraid no one can hurt you whilst you have the fruit But if you drop it you are a midnight feast to all the midnight creatures that lurk in there When you see the last tree of the forest Run Don't stop until you are far away from the last few trees Do not dawdle Or your mind will be snatched away and your body crushed Here you will reach the same stream you left earlier follow I until it reaches a pool that has three rocks in it On the first there will be a maiden with long golden hair twisted into a plait On the second there will be a maiden with long hazel hair flowing freely And on the third a maiden with ruby red hair which sparkles in the light You must give the apple to the one with hazel hair Then take the weed she gives in return and swallow it It will allow you to breath underwater for an hour Then you must dive into the pool Stay away from the edges You will see that the pool turn into a sea once you are under the surface Chained to a post is the one you desire Do not try and save the others Though you mean well release them and they will die They have to wait for their own people to save them As soon as you have the one you desire swim to the surface as quickly as you can Get out before the mere folk of the pool have discovered what you have done Then grab the one you have saved and run down a little path to the side of where you have come You will reach a small cottage Enter the cottage Inside the only piece of furniture will be the fireplace and a small bag of soot at the foot of it Take a handful whilst holding the hand of your hearts desire step into the fireplace Call out the name of the place you wish to go And you will appear there Tell no one of what I have just shared with you Keep it a secret Your life depends on it…….
