I clamber through the undergrowth, Brambles leave pale streaks on my skin, Trapped in this damp, dark green world, Where the only exit path is deep within,
The yellow glow leads me forwards, A tiny glittering fairy as my guide, To just keep on crawling on and on, Through the dark, longing for outside,
The yellow light blinks out, Disappearing from view, All I'm left with is darkness, And heavy morning dew,
Forwards on my knees, I creep towards the place, The spot she disappeared - And suddenly light hits my face,
Stepping out in wonder, A new world tumbles down, A rainbow land growing out, Every colour from blue to brown,
My eyes grow wide with watching, As Fairies dance across the sky, It was worth all that journey - For now I can learn to fly.
[little "woo!" for 500th post!]
