Waving her twinkle-tiny toes, she sat and considered her simple fairy woes,
Watching the deep forest grow, from the back of her loyal blue crow,
She knew something was amiss, and ruining her sweet fairy bliss,
On and on she searched the summer wood, looking for the cause of the not-so-good,
A spark caught her eye a-glow, so she descended to confront the foe,
A goblin dark as ancient sands, held fast an axe in chubby hands,
The Forest Fairy gasped as the axe shone through the air, how this goblin acted without a simple care!
He hacked and smacked into her fine tree, humming his song for when at sea,
The Fairy filled with rage, she was too small to have it gaged,
Flying between tree and axe, that goblin how he gasped,
She was almost ripped in half! But all he did was laugh!
"Not you again," Goblin grumbled, "This is my tree now, so don't fairy mumble."
She wasn't having any of it, "hold on there you great stinking twit," and square between the eyes she did hit,
The gnarled goblin did frown, before tumbling down to ground,
And with another push, he rolled right down the hill and into a bush,
"Ouf!" said he, "I hate you, fairy."
Suddenly the rage left her little body, replaced all over with something soppy,
"I'll offer you a deal, foe," she poked him with her twinkle-toe,
"Guard my forest, take the fallen and prune the rest," she pouted, "and I shall give you a map for a treasure chest,"
Goblins can't resist treasure, so his heart went all a-flitter,
"You fairy, you fool, I need enough wood for fuel,"
"Trust me, you shall have it, so long as you guard even the smallest rabbit,"
He rose from his back, withdrawing away his attack, "Fine, the forest will be kept as you wish," he mumbled in goblin Gliss,
And to this day they have not strayed, now a small little clump, down the A33.
