I once found a trinket, Out in the golden sands, I dug it out quick, And held it in my hands,
Old, rusty and dirty, It didn't glimmer in the light, But I saw it's potential, I thought it was alright,
It sat on my mantlepiece, Pride of place, for many ayear, Until one day a friend said, "Why don't you clean it, my dear?"
"It is perfect as it is," I replied with a smile, It is this lamp's future, That's made me keep it a while,
Something bad will come, One fateful little day, I'll make my lamp shine, Chase that old rust away,
Out will pop my Genie, All magic, full of wishes, And all those troubles, He swiftly dismisses.
