We are beautiful, enchanting,
Together we love romancing,
Our bodies do incredible things,
Swim, jump, run, laugh, sing...
I'm in awe, I want to believe again,
That a new world can form, a new domain,
Just look at what we've done -
Just look at when we all get together,
Just look at these two weeks of fun!
Why is the world in such a state,
Just a few people with an evil trait,
Just end up on false thrones to dominate,
Gluttonous west so overweight,
Why can't we just set the world straight?
Take away the famine and drought,
Take away dictators and their self doubt,
Reform our laws, feed the hungry,
Save nature as it is meant to be,
Why not set the trapped and innocent free?
Please someone, tell me I am naive,
Tell me it is time I woke up, to grieve
A world lost forever, never to be retrieved,
Trouble is, that's just not what I want to believe,
I think there is so much more we could achieve.
