When the nights get dark
So do his eyes
They look into mine, expression full of lies.
He told me he loved
The way I play with my hair
He doesn't ask questions
No he just doesn't care

When the nights get blurry
So do my eyes
They fill up with tears
But I'm not surprised
It's nothing new
The pain seems unending
But when the sun comes up
I must start pretending

When sun gets bright
So do my eyes
I look at happy people
My expression full of lies.

I watch from a distance
As he talks to his friends
And I sit with mine
Wishing my heart would finally mend.
He walks past me
Never meeting my gaze
My heart pounding
His mind another place
We share a moment
But only on one side
I can't help but wonder
If his love completely died.
I know a warm day lies ahead
