Oh, bleak and weary day
Bring your stark grey over me
If I lie on the ground and stare up at you
Will you bear me to the sky?
Will the clouds engulf me
Like a comforting blanket?
Will this bleak day take me up
To stand by the sides of my gods?
They who tear me down and build me up
They who ruin and reward me
Do they know of this bleak day?
Will the rain see me as it splashes down?
It lands in my eyes and fall like tears
My faith is gone, my hope used
My love is misplaced, peace long gone
Anger and fear are all I have left
I am scared of what I am
And of what I could become
Sometimes I want to let go
And then I remember the truth
Hidden in the lies
Don't listen to what they tell me
I know that everyone dies.
