14 March 2013
He goes away today With a smile on his face And a confident walk; A spring in his step.
Dressed in army fatigues, Proud of who he is, Off to serve the people For queen and country.
To the desert sun, I watch As I wave him off. I wish I could see him fly The whole way there.
As he kisses my cheek And leaves my presence, I wish he was a child again So I could forbid him to go.
But this is his choice, His life and his servitude. This is the last tour now, And so I let him go.
