I want to be rich.
Does that make me materialistic? Or just ambitious? Or power-hungry?
I'm not quite sure.
Because in our aesthetic world, objects are everything. We are born into a society where we are told that people in Africa are unhappy because they are poor, without shelter or 'proper' clothing.
We are also told that we are fortunate enough to be developed. We have shinier buildings than other countries. So we're clearly better off.
Can money truly buy happiness?
I'm not sure about that either.
