After the Treaty of Tilsit in 1807, Napoleon organized a celebratory rabbit hunt. His chief of staff had sourced tame farm rabbits rather than wild ones. When released, the rabbits did not scatter. They swarmed Napoleon and his party en masse, overwhelming his guards and forcing him to retreat to his carriage.
