Koala fingerprints are virtually indistinguishable from human fingerprints, even under a scanning electron microscope. The ridges, loops, and whorls are so alike that koala prints have occasionally been found at crime scenes and mistaken for human ones. Koalas and humans last shared a common ancestor over 100 million years ago.
