Old cathedral windows often appear thicker at the bottom, which gave rise to the myth that glass slowly flows over centuries. In reality, medieval glassmakers could not produce perfectly uniform panes and intentionally installed the thicker end downward for stability. Glass is not a liquid. It has not moved.
