On February 5, 1958, a US B-47 bomber collided with a fighter jet near Savannah, Georgia and jettisoned a hydrogen bomb into the sea to make an emergency landing. Despite several military searches, the bomb has never been recovered. It remains on the ocean floor off Tybee Island, undisturbed.
